THE MOST VALUABLE CLOCK IN THE WORLD: UNVEILING AND TOUR

The time has come!

The Most Valuable Clock in the World will be unveiled this May at the very place where it has been carefully built over the past year and a half. Join us on May 9 at 1:00 PM at the Old Orava School (Simunantie 15, Kello, Oulu, Finland).

In early June, the clock will go on tour. The first stop is the Kierikki Center—come and meet us on June 13 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. On the same day, the entire Climate Clock public art trail will open across Oulu, so there is a chance to also meet the other Climate Clock artists: Ranti Bam, Superflex, Takahiro Iwasaki,  Antti Laitinen, Rana Begum and Gabriel Kuri,

On June 23 at 5:00 PM, the clock will open at the Valve Cultural Center. After that, the piece will be on display at the Ylikiiminki Community House starting July 27, at Syketalo in Kiiminki from October 1, and at the Oulunsalo Library from November 1.

In Tornio, the clock will be exhibited at the Aine Art Museum beginning December 10. At the Hämeenlinna Art Museum, the clock will become part of our solo exhibition, opening on June 18, 2027.

This work has been an incredible collective process, and we look forward to sharing the result with you. Welcome!

The Most Valuable Clock in the World is part of the Climate Clock initiative, curated by Alice Sharp (Invisible Dust, UK) and Claudia Woolgar (The Netherlands) for the European Capital of Culture Oulu 2026.

PREMIERE OF FINAL SCENES OF DISASTER MOVIES @ HELSINKI FESTIVAL, HELSINKI, 17.8.2023

Welcome to the premiere of our participatory film Final Scenes of Disaster Movies. The piece will be premiered in Night of Arts, 17 August 8.30pm and 9.30pm at Kansalaistori, Helsinki, in front of the Oodi library.

In spring 2023 we invited people to send ideas how an imaginary disaster movie could end. Out of 105 proposals we chose three, which we filmed with volunteer actors. All the scenes take place at Kansalaistori, Helsinki.

Cleaning Women has composed the music score to the film, and they will play it live during screening.  In between of the two screenings they will play a mini concert. The event is free.

The project is commissioned by Helsinki Festival / Marko Ahtisaari and it is made in collaboration with Helsinki Events Foundation Sr, YLE / Sari Volanen and AVEK/ Milla Moilanen.

101 FOR ALL EXHIBITION @ SALO ART MUSEUM, 6 MAY – 10 SEPT, 2023

Why do we think like we think? For All put it’s focus on the people hidden inside statistics – and to the stories behind their opinions.

The 100 people in the art piece forms a cross-section of the Finnish population in terms of gender, age, region, education, level of income, country of origin and mother tongue. 51 of them are classified as women, 13 isover 70 years old, one is from Asia and one holds a Ph.D.

In 2015 Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen visited them around Finland. The artists interviewed people about their personal relationship with 30 topics that tend to divide opinions. The interviewees tried to pinpoint experiences and influences that play a role on how their opinions were shaped.

The 1900 responses fed into an interactive video-installation. One spectator at a time can choose who to let speak, and on what topic.

101 FOR ALL -PIECE IS NOW ONLINE: SATAYKSI.FI

101 kaikkien puolesta on julkaistu myös verkossa! https://satayksi.fi

101 For all is now online. It is first only in Finnish, but later on we will add English subtitles.

Imagine a Finland of 100 inhabitants: 51 of them would be women, 13 would be over 70 years old, one would be from Asia and one would hold a Ph.D. 101 For All put it’s focus at the people hidden inside statistics – and to the stories behind their opinions.

In 2015 we visited one hundred homes around Finland and interviewed people about their personal relationship with 30 topics that tend to divide opinions. The 100 interviewees formed a cross-section of the Finnish population in terms of gender, age, region, education, level of income, country of origin and mother tongue.

Why do we think like we think? The interviewees tried to pinpoint experiences and influences that play a role on how their opinions were shaped. Their 1900 responses fed into an interactive video-installation first shown in Helsinki Art Hall in 2015.

The Finnish Cultural Foundation supported the exhibition in Helsinki Art Hall and the publishing of the work online in 2019. Even 92 of 100 participants allowed their interviews to be used also in the online version of the art piece. The photo is from the installation in Helsinki Art Hall.
