NEW PROJECT STARTING UP IN GELSENKIRCHEN

gelsenkirchen_low

We are looking for citizens of Gelsenkirchen to take part to an exciting and unusual project called Investment Zone. It is at the same time a game, an experiment and an art work: We invite 10 locals to make use of a plot of empty land at Schalker Verein (aka game zone) over the course of 9 month. The first meeting takes place in December 2013, and the game really starts January 2014.

Participants will come together every two weeks to deliberate and discuss in a structured manner the development of the plot. At each meeting micro-grants will be given to every player to invest in the game zone. Until the next meeting players will follow through with their decisions. The players can act on their own, or they can pool their resources and collaborate to achieve greater impact. It is entirely up to the discussions and negotiations between the players what investments and actions in the zone shall be taken.

INFLUENCERS FESTIVAL, BARCELONA

influencer2013

Tellervo is presenting our works at Influencers -festival November 9 in Bareclona. This great non conventional festival was originally initiated by by artits whom we really admire – Eva and Franco Mattes a.k.a. 0100101110101101.ORG  and it is organised by Bani Brusadin together with them. About the festival: “The Influencers is an atypical festival devoted to experiments in non conventional art and communication guerrilla. For three intense days we will be discovering rebellious projects, inventions and adventures in the troubled waters where information society, everyday technology and fragments of collective imagination mix and clash into each other.”

complaints choir of st petersburg

After a long break of organizing complaints choirs ourselves, this time we were temped to say yes… We had an opportunity to get involved with complaints choirs starting in our two home cities in Germany – Dresden where Oliver lived his first 18 years, and Berlin where we spend a lot of time every year. So, here we are, looking for members for those two choirs!

AUGUST!

In August we have several projects in our hometown Helsinki!

We have made a commissioned art work to the Helsinki Festival´s series where they invite one artist / artist duo every year to make an art work that takes place in  private homes. The project is entitled Family Goes Home  For that we produced a participatory concept around the stories about ancestors. It has been a great project with a lot of laughter and tears! We have worked in collaboration with improvisation actors Johanna Af Schulten and Max Bremer. In the end of the evenings they improvise an absurd play out of the stories of the audience members.

Tellervo is also part of Maija Hirvanen´s Walkapolis – guided city walk. In the middle of the tour she appears, performing her piece Recycling You, where old opinions are recycled among the participants.

Also Checkpoint Helsinki has had a great start in August. It is an initiative to start a new organization in Helsinki – commissioning and producing  ground breaking international contemporary art pieces. We have been involved in this exciting process, which has activated more than hundred art professionals in Helsinki.

Meanwhile we were happy to get news that Edinburgh Art Festival´s own complaints choir was a success. See the news clip made by BBC In the festival you can also see our 4-channel complaints choir installation.
